About Us...
The Hyde Dendy is a welcoming, traditional pub in Paignton, perfectly positioned on the seafront just moments from the beach and a short walk from the pier. Whether you are stopping by after a coastal stroll or planning a relaxed meal with friends, we are a go-to spot for good food, great drinks, and an easy-going atmosphere.
We serve classic pub favourites alongside refreshing pints, making The Hyde Dendy an ideal place to eat, drink, and unwind by the sea. From casual lunches to laid-back evenings, our space is designed for locals, visitors, and families alike.
Live sport is a big part of life at The Hyde Dendy, with major events such as the Euros and the World Cup shown on our big screens in the garden. Alongside sport, we host a weekly pub quiz, serve our much-loved Sunday Carvery, and offer unlimited breakfast every weekend, perfect for slow mornings by the coast.
Located on the lively Paignton seafront, we are surrounded by some of Torbay’s most popular attractions, including the pier, Vue Cinema, and the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, making us an easy choice for food and drinks before or after a day out.

OUR HISTORY...
East Street Pub Co. traces its roots to the charming Devon town of Newton Abbot. Our journey began with the Union Inn, located on, you guessed it ‘East Street’ and soon expanded to include the Rio Grande and Olive Tapas venues, both just around the corner.
Founded by the Narvidge Family, local to the area and driven by a passion for creating something unique and exceptional, the family vision has grown remarkably over the years.
Expanding with new venues in Paignton and Teignmouth. While Olive later closed, Rio Grande underwent a major refurbishment in 2019, reopening as Twelve Twenty, a nod to the year Newton Abbot’s iconic clocktower was built.
Today, our portfolio includes over nine venues across South Devon, including the vibrant themed activity site VIVA in Torquay and the one-of-a-kind street golf experience on Paignton seafront, beneath The Hyde Dendy.
